Even just cursoring up and down lists had the same "lag". Every button press to 2 to even 8 seconds to do anyhting. I restarted Asset, then I went to browse the folder tree again on the Denon. I then thought that maybe Asset needs restarting to recognises it's communicating with a new device. All I have done is disconnect one streamer and replace it with another. It saw my server and came up with a browse tree that wasn't the same as the Marantz, even though I had not changed any settings of Asset. I connected the Denon up and tried to connect to the server (all via LAN cable I should add). However I got the Denon and things are just.well. I have a Synology 718+ NAS, I have a Denon DNR800E streamer (which I litterally got today), my previous streamer was a Marantz 6005. Preparing files? Is it my large connection?Hi There, I know this thread AND response are quite old, but I'm having the same issue. My Synology is doing something during this 10 second delay. I thought it might be a UPnP thing - refreshing its link or something - but not sure. I have 183,570 tracks, nearly all FLACS (quite a few are hi-res). Regardless of the playback device I'm using (Cambridge Audio streamer, Denon receiver, Android phone), Asset normally takes around 10-20 seconds to "load up" its content. I don't know if it's the same problem, but I have a Synology NAS218+ running the latest version of Asset. I am not particularly technically minded. I suspect another package might be the culprit but don't want to uninstall something critical by accident. O Auth Service (no idea what that is or does)Ĭan anyone offer advice on what might be causing the extremely slow instance of Asset server? The NAS CPU whilst doing this reports between 15%-32% and the RAM is showing as around 57% I have rebooted the NAS drive and network.(Microtik router) It then takes a long time to select artist / album or anything else. When I search for the same music on my streamer, it takes forever for the content to populate and ages for the listing to show. The instance of Asset installed on my Synology DS119 via Finder on my Mac, the files all show immediately and play just fine. The DiskStation reports as being "Healthy" and "Running Well". I actually have two Synology NAS drives, both running Asset server (fully paid) and although one works flawlessly, the other doesn't.īoth used to work perfectly but now the DS119 doesn't. Perhaps some people who have used the Synology media server as well as MinimServer could say a bit more about the differences.I've had a search and found an older thread but it doesn't seem to address my issue. I haven't used the Synology media server because I don't have a Synology. It wouldn't help you with gapless playback. In your setup, the main advantage of MinimServer would be a more flexible approach to browsing the tags in your music library. Regarding the id3-tagging, I do that using foobar2000 on my Win7 PC and then upload the file and folder structure to the NAS. What would be the advantages to use Minimserver? This setup unfortuantely does not do gapless music and I am wondering how to get there other than directly choosing the music on the Oppo? In order to select the music I use DS-Audio on my iPad and iPhone. I currently use my Oppo BDP-105 aus streming client and the Synology Mediaserver as the server where Synology Audiostation serves as connecting point. I've put all the musi con my Synology DS-211+ using a folder structure where all FLAC and all MP3 are in separate directory structures. I am new to this forum and relatively new to the world of network streaming, however I have ripped all my 800 odd CDs using EAC into FLAC and MP3.
